People Love To Ask: So, How's Business???

This is a question that always seems to get under my skin as a chiropractor. I think many people ask it as an innocent way to shoot the breeze or inquire about if you are happy doing what you have been doing recently, but I also get the feeling there are a lot of people who also ask me this, specifically wondering if  people actually go to the chiropractor and like it and if they do, do they actually pay for it?

How often would you ask your MD this question?

It seems to me that everywhere I go I can hear people talking about their pain or health problems. I think we can all agree that there is definitely a healthcare need...

So does chiropractic work?

The truth is, our patients are happy, feeling healthier and more functional, and they are generally referring others patients to us. So I'd say he answer to this question, yes!

How about:
Doctor, is your clinic full of patients?

It will be as long as gravity, trauma, bad food, and mental stress exists on earth.
It will continue to be bustling with patients because our patients feel great after getting adjusted and want to continue to feel great. Just like consistently working out, eating healthy, and de-stressing, spinal maintenance is also one of those things that you have to do on a regular basis.

There are constant forces that press down upon us as we make our way through life. We endure traumas which can speed up the spinal degeneration process for many of us. Chemical and emotional stressors also play a role when it comes to total health. In our clinic we address all these causes at their source and alleviate bodily ailments as a side effect of spinal alignment and posture correction.

I would like to add that yes my clinic is buzzing... but if more people would start getting their children checked, chiropractors would see far fewer adult problems!

A spinal misalignment retained in the spine since childhood from a simple fall  or even from a birth trauma can have repercussions later on in life. Just because your kid has no pain or cannot communicate that they have a spinal misalignment doesn't mean that child will not be suffering from it now or later on in life. Childhood spinal misalignments or subluxations as chiropractic calls them, contribute to many problems babies and children are suffering from today. Reflux, colic, chronic ear infections, chronic bed wetting, scoliosis, ADHD, sensory disorders, gastrointestinal issues, sleep issues, torticollis, developmental delays and many many more symptoms can be the result of a nervous system inefficiency, poor diet, or emotional turmoil.

I have been blessed to be able to participate in the ICPA's pediatric certification program where I have been trained in how to identify problems that can be corrected by chiropractic and nutrition. I am by no means a pediatrician, but I do know how to care for a pediatric spine. (I have three at home who can vouch for this!) and I do have the ability to send a pediatric patient elsewhere if they are in need of medical care.

It is amazing the results I have been seeing in my clinic the past weeks since I started back to work.

 For example:

A case of a baby not having bowel movements for 8 to 10 days- after one adjustment pooped three days later, after two adjustments pooped after the visit, and after four weeks of care he was having a regular bowel movement every day!

Spinal alignment can do amazing things for people's function and health and this is why our clinic is full of happy healthy patients!!!

Back Labor: Redefining My Life As a Woman

One of Life’s Big Lessons #1   After having labored and birthed three children at home, with each one encompassing all the beauty, passion, and hormone cocktail high that comes with bringing a terrestrial onto this planet, I developed a deep passion and interest in birth. As of now, it has been three years since my last physical birthing of a child. The high intensity, inner and outer struggle and cosmic anchoring that can occur during the process of birth resounds within me from those experiences. With birth, we discover a world that comes to a halt. We find that time can stand perfectly still. Experiencing labor and birth results in a family that is forever metamorphosed.  As a new family, we are then left alone to privately ponder amongst this new unit about how to function as a family. What you are about to read is a story like that.  Struggle, intensity, transformation, and newness, except it didn't come with a baby this time.
It is quite ironic that this story starts …

During the winter season it seems like so many of us fall ill. People used to think this was because they went outside without a hat or with wet hair or got sneezed on in a crowded elevator. The truth is, it really does not work that way. In my professional opinion, winter/holiday illness is caused by the STRESS, the SWEETS and the SUBLUXATIONS!

Holiday shopping, end of the year bills/etc., trying to make everything look perfect... can take a toll on our bodies. With stress hormone being secreted in our body at higher levels causes our immune response to become decreased! Ever heard of the fight or flight response? When our bodies become stressed our nervous system "flips a switch" to become more sympathetic dominant (fight or flight). What this means: our bodies are trying to anticipate the next stressor so it stops putting as much effort into our immune system. When our body is worried about protecting itself from physical or mental stresses that may be at han…

Sit Up Straight Why Don't YOU!

Look Better, Move Better, Feel Better?
Once upon a time, my mom told me to “stand up straight, hold your shoulders back, and stop slouching.” But honestly it didn’t feel right, it felt better to slouch. I thought, maybe I was different and maybe my body was meant to slouch. The reality was that somewhere along the way and probably many times along the way, I had a bump, a trip, a fall, a slip, or some physical event that led to misalignments in my spinal structure.

Spinal alignment is the structural determination of your posture. Poor posture on the outside will become the norm, based on poor alignment on the inside produced by the spine. Misalignment in the spinal column and pelvis will effect the body’s frame and how we unconsciously position ourselves. Healthcare professionals around the world agree that posture is a fundamental component of health and proper human function. Postural awareness is an exact healthcare strategy that can and will improve how you look, move, and feel. P…
